  Toe-Rail

  Hi,
  For several years new sailboats have not had proper aluminium toe-rails, in stead these have been replaced with a delicate piece of wood. I would like to know why this is?

  Is it just for the “look”, or perhaps a cost saving?

  As a company involved in the manufacture and supply of deck fittings, we are constantly being asked to retro-fit aluminium toe-rails to newer sailboats.

  Your opinions and feedback on this subject would be most appreciated.
